October 3rd “Day Against DRM”

October 3rd has been declared ‘Day Against DRM‘. DRM, or Digital Rights Management is what prohibits you, the end user, from fully utilizing the latest technology (ie, your MP3 or DVD player), use music you’ve bought to the full extent of your rights, and enjoy all rights you have as an end-user. Record companies have enforced DRM on hardware vendors in order to protect themselves, but in the process, they’re harming us and limiting our rights and freedoms.
I urge anyone and everyone to be vocal against DRM, explain what it’s all about to all your friends and your entire family, and help the battle against DRM. I’d like to urge everyone that has a site or blog to post this little vertical banner I’ve made and spread the word. TechZ pointed me to this campaign, and I’d like to spread the word as much as possible.
